The coordinates of this site were extracted from the popular online Encycopedia "Wikipedia". These coordinates and of cource all articles where written by very gifted and committed individuals. One big "Thank you" to Wikipedia and all authors!
Wikipedia Coordinates
The coordinates in Wikipedia are mainly a product of "WikiProjekt Georeferenzierung". This project aims at georeferencing Wikipedia articles by adding geographic information.
Coordinates Collection
Stefan Kühn extracted all Wikipedia coordinates and generated huge kmz files. These kmz files were the input to the kml and ov2 file generation process used by wikitude.org.
