May 21, 2009 in News, Wikitude 3 Comments

In addition to the Augmented Reality Photo Feature the new release for Wikitude Premium version has the following optimizations.

* New design (slider, buttons and messages), use trackball to change slider-value
* Freeze-Button is available in free-version too
* Map-View uses pins instead of markers
* Button-press feedback in cam-view (short vibration)
* POI marker’s transparency set depending on its distance
* Panoramio Photos fixed (there was an error with non-English languages)
* Status lamp added (GPS status is green, yellow or red – updates periodically)

fotofeature1How does it work?

On the Cam view of Wikitude, simply press the cam button on the top right.

Optionally, add title

After you took an image, you can add personal greetings or what ever you like.

Share by either eMail, MMS or Picasas

Finally you can either save the image on your phone or share it using email, MMS or Picasa.

Enjoy! – Your Wikitude Team

For Experts: Use the freeze AR overlay feature

Sometimes you want an AR description (the “text bubble”) to appear at a certain position. However this is often not possible because of GPS inaccuracy.

Therefore we added a Freeze button to the top left of the cam screen. When you press this button, the AR info stops moving. You can then align the AR info with whatever you see through the camera and take the picture precisely.

To switch off the FREEZE mode, simply press the Play Button on the top left of the screen.

    Schade, dass es das Programm nciht für Windows Mobile-Geräte (wie z.B. HTC Touch pro) gibt, welche ähnlich ausgestattet sind wie das G1
