Any chance you could port this cool app to the Nokia N900?

There seem to be contradicting info around about if n900 offers this features or not, but I have a transcript from media interview given by nokia where they assured this finctionality exists.

That i’m aware there are a couple of AR projects ongoing at this moment for the n900 but these are not fully finished apps, so while they show the incredable possibilities available on the n900, not very much use other then to impress your mates.

Hi anonymous, there is no digital compass built into the N900 therefore Wikitude World Browser won’t be available for the N900. But Augmented Reality is a broad field that often uses just the camera image to track markers (similar to 2D barcodes) or other features and overlays information on top of the camera viewfinder. We are looking very closely at the MeeGo platform since we believe that MeeGo devices that are able to run Wikitude World Browser will be released in the future. Cheers, Wolfgang

Running the app. On my N97 now tells me that “This version is no longer supported.” However it is the only version available on the Ovi site. Is there an update due or has support for symbian stopped?

  • Wolfgang
    22. June 2010

@Stokz, support definitely has not stopped. What version are you using? If you are not using version 2.0.2 just download/update Wikitude from the Ovi Store.

I may be a complete noob but all I can find on Ovi under Wikitude is version 1.0

O.K. my bad sorry. Had to uninstall old build before installing again BUT Ovi cannot distinguish the difference in builds on shop and on phone.

Why doesn’t it work on my iPhone 4? If it works on the 3GS, surely it should just work on the 4?

I installed wikitude on my iPhone 4 and I don’t have the option for the camera view, only maps view like on the iPhone 3G. Is this a known issue? Any plans for a fix?

    Hello Wikitude,

this Application makes me happy, but i don´t found the Version for Windows Mobile. I´ve a HTC HD2, it´s recommend the Wikitude-App is avaible to WinMo 6.5.
The HD2-Hardware is the finest on the Mobile-Market, but the Wikitude doesn´t support the HD2.

    Greatings from Berlin/Germany. Happy Summertime.

    Hi,
I can’t find it on Ovi Store for my Nokia N97. Item no longer available.
Is Wikitude still supported for it ?
    Thanks

  • Wolfgang
    12. July 2010

Nokia has made available a Smart Installer that reduces the size of Wikitude to under 1 MB and downloads eventually needed libraries on application installation. Unfortunately Wikitude was pulled from the store without a notice of Nokia beforehand and has to be resubmitted using this Smart Installer. We are currently talking to Nokia to speed up the process and are expecting that Wikitude is back in the Ovi Store within the next 48 hours.

    Thanks for your patience,

    Wolfgang

I see the Nokia E72 is supported but I have the Nokia E71.

Why do you not support the E71???

  • Nicola
    02. August 2010

    Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately the E71 does not have a digital compass therefore Wikitude is not compatible with this device.
