New Wikitude Version
Dear Wikitude Community,
After some days of redesign, brainstorming and coding-sessions we published a new version (v6.8) in the Android Market. Feel free to give us some feedback – just write a comment. Further updates in design and usability will follow.
The new release for Wikitude (free & premium version) is available since Friday June 19th and comes with a couple of optimizations.
- New design (slider, buttons and messages), use trackball to change slider-value
- Freeze-Button is available in free-version too
- Map-View uses pins instead of markers
- Button-press feedback in cam-view (short vibration)
- POI marker’s transparency set depending on its distance
- Panoramio Photos fixed (there was an error with non-English languages)
- Status lamp added (GPS status is green, yellow or red – updates periodically)

Andreas Hauser
Andreas studied applied computer science in Salzburg, Austria. After 4 instructive years at Sony DADC he joined Mobilizy in the very first days. He is now Product Manager of Wikitude but also responsible for innovations at Mobilizy. He loves snowboarding and being challenged as a handball goal-keeper.

giebt es auch die möglichkeit aus bildern aus dem web informationen auszulesen ? beispiel panoramabilder die eine 360° rundumsich der umgebung abbilden und durch gps daten lokalisiert sind !

Wow,
ich bin begeistert.
Tolle App, prima zum Angeben und super um die eigene Stadt kennen zu lernen.
Gibt es irgendwo eine Funktion PoI´s selber einzupflegen?
Woher bekommt die App die Informationen?

I’ve played a bit with this tool, using my G1 with android 1.1 (Telefonica has not updated yet), but it can’t see the geotags that I have deployed using Wikitude.me in Salamanca.
I can’t see all wikipedia geotags from Salamanca neither.
–> Answer from Wikitude: wikitude.me has been the first stage in taking the the “User Generated Content” feature life. After an initial test phase, we will activate the data user have entered, and then your data will be visible. Thank you for your comment. Ph
