Add Content
Mobilizy is very proud to announce the launch of WIKITUDE.me, a community of mobile augmented reality users and shapers, empowered with a powerful tool to embed unique points of interest (POI) and location-specific, hyperlinked media content which can be viewed on the WIKITUDE World Browser.
With WIKITUDE.me we are all helping to shape the world as a platform by bringing geo-information, POIs and embedded media to the world around us.
“Geo-tag your world” You can add your own content, fast & easy and geo-tag the world with the WIKITUDE and display it in an augmented experience on mobile phones using the WIKITUDE World Browser. Also, you can register XML data and larger, more dynamic content sources by contacting Mobilizy directly.
Geo-tag the world with WIKITUDE.me.

Great idea!
But how will the crowdsourced data be licensed? If it’s just available under a proprietary license I might as well add my POIs to OpenStreetMap and hope for an open AR-solution.
If you plan to license the data more liberally, you might want to cooperate with OpenStreetMap. They already have lots of POIs on there maps and both parties could greatly profit from a collaboration.
Regards,
Daniel

WIKITUDE and Mobeedo teamed up to create Wikitude.me in order to provide a free, easy-to-use, open, mobile information platform for anybody who wants to access or provide location based and situation-specific information or services via mobile phones.
Basically, Wikitude.me can be understood as a platform which anybody can contribute to freely, very similar to the philosophy of Wikipedia, but for mobile augmented reality. With regards to intellectual property, Wiktude.me will be implemented under a Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License.

Thank you very much! This is great news!
Mykro - August 13, 2009
I’ve added both InfoAreas and InfoPOIs, but they are not showing up in Wikitude on Android… what am I missing?
motzel - August 19, 2009
Just like Mykro. I’ve added some POIs in my area and they are not visible in my phone although they are visible in Wikitude.me

I sure wish I can get this on my Palm Pre. Is there any plans to make it available on this platform?

Still, why not connect with other open geodata communities?

Same thing with Wikitude iPhone app: I’ve added some POIs in my area and they are not visible in my phone although they are visible in Wikitude.me
Luiz - November 11, 2009
The same with me. I added POI’s and they don’t appear in my iphone, only in wikitude.me .. anyone?
Roy Janssen - November 18, 2009
indeed, it would be helpfull if you could tell us how long it takes before a POI is updated on the Iphone.
christina - November 20, 2009
It will appear immediately. please check the language setting of your Wikitude app – if you add a poi in English and you have activated “German” in Wikitude it will of cores not appear.
Roy Janssen - November 20, 2009
Ok. That makes sense.
I’m adding some locations near the Dutch/German border. The Germans will prefer their German setting on their Iphone and the Dutch (probably) English. So best thing to do is add a POI in that case in multiple languages?
Roy Janssen - November 20, 2009
Is the language based on the language chosen in the upper right corner of the computer screen (English/German) or the language I choose from the pull-down menu when I add a POI?
Luiz - November 21, 2009
but, where on the iphone app we choose the language? the app is already in english and I can’t see any poi that i added…
aldo - November 24, 2009
how can i delete/edit tags ?
christina - November 26, 2009
But what language setting does your phone have?
christina - November 26, 2009
just log in again and edit your POI’s by clicking on them!
Luiz - November 26, 2009
what you mean by “settings”
y iphone is in portuguese, but I already changed to english to try. the app itself don’t have any settings about language..
christina - November 27, 2009
Luiz, if you have added your POI’s in Portuguese, you have to make sure your regional settings on your iPhone (you will find it under: general settings > language and there is a button for “regional settings”) are also in Portuguese! If you add POI’s in English same procedure: change to English. Please let me know if that worked! Regards, Christina
Luiz - November 27, 2009
yes, you are right. using “regional settings” with english, the POIs appear. but then, everytime I want to use Wikitude, I need to change the settings of my phone?
:-(
Luiz - November 27, 2009
because I can’t add POI’s with portuguese language settings on your website…
